The logbook pages were passed on from generation to generation and never read until today. On 23rd August 1876 he wrote the last entry, bundled them carefully and, on his deathbed, handed them to his great nephew Fenton, who was just four years old at that time. He then gave them to his son Fredward, who handed them to my father Ferdinand.
